Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled professional engineer to simulate vehicle range, fuel economy, energy consumption, CO2 emissions, performance, and gradeability/capability for various propulsion systems. This includes Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV), conventional Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles, and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) across all types of architectures. This is a contract position with the possibility of direct placement in the future, subject to performance and business demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct simulations to evaluate vehicle range, fuel economy, and energy consumption.
- Analyze energetic and performance metrics.
- Assess vehicle capability and gradeability for different propulsion systems.
- Work with HEV, PHEV, ICE, and BEV architectures to ensure optimal performance.
- Analyze test data.
- Correlate models to actual vehicle test-based data.
- Create and publish executive summary and analysis reports.
Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school
- 5 years of experience in vehicle simulation and analysis.
- Strong understanding of various propulsion systems and their architectures.
- Proficiency in simulation tools and software.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in vehicle simulation and modeling.
- Control systems background and knowledge including advanced course work in the subject.
- Knowledge of propulsion systems including HEV, PHEV, ICE, and BEV.
- Proficiency in using simulation software and tools such as Matlab/Simulink.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with advanced simulation techniques and tools.
- Familiarity with fuel economy industry standards and regulations for various regions such as 40 CFR Part 600 and Euro7.
- Ability to innovate and improve simulation methodologies.
- Proven track record of successful project management.
