What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electric Drive Module System Functional Safety Expert position at FCA?
The Electric Drive Modules (EDMs) System F unctional Safety Expert is responsible for managing EDM System level functional safety requirements and its decomposition to EDM subcomponent s [ eMotor , Power Inverter Module and Gearbox] level .
The safety expert would be responsible for d elivering other FuS a Deliverables -Impact Analysis, Safety Assessments, DFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis , Technical Safety Concepts etc. Safety Expert will be working closely with other core design teams - eMotor , PIM, Gearbox and ensure alignment on respective functional safety requirements. System Safety Expert will lead in defining the process es and in developing tools for managing EDM Functional Safety requirements . T his role will support DREs /Suppliers by provid ing technical assistance and expertise in resolving EDM system level functional safety requirement / design issues.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Control/SW, or equivalent Engineering from an accredited university .
Minimum of 5 years of industrial e xperience in managing functional safety requirements for EDM and its subcomponents.
Expert u nderstanding of functional safety (ISO 26262) and ASIL level requirements and design implementation -for EDM and its subcomponents.
Exper ience in designing Power Electronics and High Voltage System Design and eMotor to meet functional safety (ISO 26262) and ASIL level requirements .
Experience in defining the processes and tools for managing EDM Functional Safety requirements.
Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work both independently and in team s.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Control/ SW, or Equivalent Engineering from an accredited university
Minimum 8 years of experience in managing EDM Functional Safety requirements and in designing EDMs and its subcomponents as per ISO 26262 and ASIL levels.
Familiarity with automotive product development processes and project management
Excellent problem-solving techniques and analytical ability
Excellent leadership skills
