JOB SUMMARY:
The Secondary Loan Processor assembles, organizes, and submits necessary documentation to Underwriter for loan review and approval. They are responsible for documenting and verifying all information provided by borrowers and loan officers on loan application and supporting documentation, including but not limited to residency, employment, income, financial assets and real estate owned. The Secondary Loan Processor analyzes loan application and documentation to assess loan quality and probability of approval.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Produces loan documents:
- Verifies information supplied by loan applicants.
- Reviews loan file documentation for accuracy and integrity.
- Analyzes documents and data to make preliminary loan assessments.
- Uses automated underwriting systems (AUS) to determine loan eligibility and documentation standards.
- Assists and advises lenders and borrowers regarding loan products, programs, and requirements.
- Must have understanding and knowledge of the functionality of all documents and each transaction based on secondary market guidelines.
- Meets deadlines as assigned.

- Cross trains in other positions at Loan Administration:
- Expected to fill in as needed in other areas of loan administration

- Completion of special projects as assigned
- Performs other tasks or functions as assigned by bank management.
TECHNICAL SKILLS NEEDED:
- Strong communication skills – verbal, written and listening.
- High quality writing skills – uses accurate word usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation in all written correspondence.
- Strong technology skills, along with expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and traditional office products (copiers, fax machines, ten-keys, phones, etc.).
- Problem Solving – identifies and resolves problems timely.
- Teamwork – contributes to building a positive team spirit
- Working understanding of the banking industry, regulations, loan documentation, loan policies and procedures and compliance.
- Effective at managing and prioritizing multiple tasks and ability to perform under extreme pressure.

- Time-management and ability to meet deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (preferred)
- 1 – 3 years of financial services industry experience (preferred)
- 1 – 3 years of underwriting experience (preferred)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Constantly uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, calculators and fax machines
- Availability to work during core bank operating hours (i.e. 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday)
- Occasionally requires local travel including offsite trainings and meetings
- Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced, changing environment and maintain a commitment to accuracy and timeliness
- Regularly remains in a stationary position at least 50% of the time
- Constantly moves to access supplies and equipment and to assist coworkers
