What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Coordinator position at FCC (Adams) LLC?
Role
Advanced frontline support for internal quality.
Responsibilities
1. Complete reports for customers, including 8D, capability, etc. as required by customers.
2. Provide technical guidance to direct-reports on Gemba investigations, auditing, core tools, root cause analysis, process and quality improvements, blueprint reading / GD&T, PPAP submissions, etc.
3. Communicate with customers on issues related to quality, including occasional travel to customer locations. Estimated 1 day per month and rarely overnight.
4. Conduct 1st party audits of the quality management system per IATF 16949 as directed by management.
5. Create and manage customer return material authorizations (RMA).
6. Maintain control plan and check sheet specifications in ERP system.
7. Issue non-conformance reports as needed. Track the status of non-conformances and share responsibility with the subject department to move forward to closure.
8. Directly support implementing initial containment for quality issues.
9. Conduct past problem verification audits and report findings to the subject department and management.
10. Share responsibility with the subject department to correct quality issues promptly.
11. Review and approve abnormal tags. Share responsibility with the subject department to determine appropriate abnormal part disposition and to ensure prompt execute disposition in accordance with company policy.
12. Review and approve sorts for quality related issues. Share responsibility with the subject department to ensure that sorts are completed in accordance with company policy.
13. Perform Gemba investigations with the subject department on issues related to quality. Use basic measurement tools to measure products for conformance to specifications. Create reports for record keeping and reporting to management.
14. Support the subject department in updating process control documentation as needed, such as PFMEA, control plan, check sheets, work standards, etc. to help address issues related to quality.
15. Conduct 1st party audits of the quality management system per IATF 16949 as directed by management.
16. Maintain an extensive understanding of the production process and quality controls. Work with subject department to propose and implement quality improvements to the process.
17. Review changes to document control as directed by management.
18. Comply with all IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 systems to ensure a quality product. Maintain a safe, clean working environment.
19. Additional projects assigned by management.
Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements
1. 4-year degree in industrial technology, metrology, or related field or equivalent work experience
2. Six-sigma greenbelt
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
Preferred Skills/Experience
1. Problem solving (Shainin, six-sigma, 8D, 5-Why)
2. Six-sigma certification
3. ISO 9001 / IATF 16949
4. SPC (Statistical Process Control)
5. Gauge MSA (Measurement System Analysis)
6. PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and control plans
7. Computer Skills: Minitab, Excel, PowerPoint, typing
8. Basic lab tools and hand gauges
9. Technical writing
