Iron Worker – Conventional and Pre-Engineered teams
Job Summary
FCC Construction is always seeking to add talent to our AISC Certified steel erection teams. Our crews construct conventional structural steel and pre-engineered structures. Team members safely set primary structural building element and install joists, decking, insulation, roofing, wall sheeting and stair systems. Job Responsibilities
- Erect structure by following basic blueprints and written specifications
- Properly fasten structure using specified bolting and welding connections
- Transport structural members and components from ground level using cranes and other equipment to safely place within project
- Ensure structural connections and alignment using specified measuring equipment
- Fabricate miscellaneous modification and connections in the field
- Access challenging work positions that are either at elevation or otherwise difficult to reach while following proper OSHA regulations
- Accurately follow direction given by foreman or project leadership
Job Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- An ability to safely conduct daily tasks
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass all types of employment screening
- Physical endurance to complete necessary tasks in an elevated location throughout Michigan weather
- Valid driver’s license – reliable transportation to jobsite
Preferred Skills:
- OSHA safety training certificates
- Construction equipment operators’ certificate and experience
- Welding certifications
- Experience in a similar line of work
