Position Summary
Grinder operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of the Grinder and Material handler heavy equipment. The use of these machines is to ensure accurate and timely movement of materials within recycling or other designated facilities.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including but not limited to bulldozers, excavators, loaders, graders, and backhoes.
- Perform tasks such as digging, grading, trenching, and material handling as required by project specifications.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
- Conduct pre-operation equipment checks to ensure proper functionality, reporting any issues to the maintenance team.
- Load, unload, and transport materials within construction sites using heavy equipment.
- Follow weight and safety regulations to ensure proper and safe material handling.
- Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment, including lubrication, fueling, and basic repairs.
- Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions promptly.
- Collaborate with other team members, supervisors, and project managers to coordinate workflow.
- Communicate effectively regarding site conditions, equipment status and any potential safety or operational issues.
- Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including hours worked, materials moved, and any incidents or issues.
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Garbage/Recycling experience preferred
- Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary
- Experience with Heavy Equipment
