We are currently seeking a motivated and well-organized Associate Underwriter to support the acquisition and retention of profitable commercial Agribusiness accounts. The selected candidate will be involved with a variety of underwriting activities, which includes preparation of quotes and proposals, organizing and analyzing underwriting information, working closely with multiple underwriters, and cultivating strong working relationships with agency personnel, our Rating and Loss Control staff, and other departments. This position will have a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days at home and can be located in our Carmel, IN office or our office in Ridgeland, MS

The salary range for this position is $51,588-$79,443 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Experience
Required- Two years of relevant insurance experience (or Bachelor’s degree and completion of FCCI underwriter trainee program)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and move easily from one project to another when circumstances warrant
- Knowledge of all commercial property & casualty forms and coverages, rating rules, and underwriting and loss control principles and concepts
- Knowledge of the independent agency system is preferred
Education
Preferred- Bachelors or better
