What are the responsibilities and job description for the Survey Crew Chief position at FCD?
The Survey Crew Chief will oversee field survey operations and ensure the accurate collection and documentation of data for various project types such as ALTA, boundary, and topographic surveys. This role demands technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to adapt to diverse environments while ensuring project quality and compliance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in leadership role
- Minimum 3 years experience of Surveying
- Must have knowledge and experience with, but not limited to: Total Station RTK & GPS data collection systems
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Must pass a background and drug screening
- Work cooperatively with other employees and the public
- Be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Work overtime, if assigned
Must Have:
- Proficiency in using Total Station RTK & GPS data collection systems and experience in conducting ALTA, boundary, topography, control, and construction stakeout surveys.
- Leadership & Team Management
Nice to Have:
- CAD for mapping and documentation.
- Understanding of local land use laws and regulations.
- Certifications such as Certified Survey Technician (CST) or professional licensure in land surveying.
- Train and mentor junior team members.
