Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed fabrication drawings for mechanical parts in SOLIDWORKS®, following industry standards such as ASME Y14.5
- Create and modify mechanical parts using Solidworks®
- Create exploded view drawings used by our production team
- Create cable drawings using Draftsight® or equivalent tool
- Create and update bills of Materials (BOMs) in NetSuite®
- Create and maintain product specifications and test procedures
- Perform updates to electromechanical schematics as needed
- Generate engineering change notices (ECNs) and review the work of peers
- Perform tests and collect test data using common lab tools such as meters, data loggers, and oscilloscopes
- Other duties as assigned to support rapid prototyping
- Mechanical or electrical engineering education and/or training
- Minimum of 2-6 years of relevant experience
- Proficient with SOLIDWORKS®, Draftsight®, and ERP (NetSuite® preferred)
- Hands-on experience creating and updating BOMs and ECNs
- Competent with Microsoft Office tools
- Experience with version control and configuration management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge/experience of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry
- Able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals within established engineering procedures and best practices
- Preferred: Ability to solder
- Preferred: Experience with machine shops and CNC processes
- Preferred: Familiar with DoD standards and military specifications related to manufacturing of rugged products
- Preferred: Proficiency in DoD and industry testing protocols and the ability to create test procedures
- Preferred: Experience in the production of display, computing, and peripheral products per military specifications
- Office and Laboratory environment with temperature controls
- Potential exposure to chemicals associated with manufacturing processes
- Office noise levels in an office setting
