Summary:
A production worker cleans and operates production equipment, works on an assembly line, puts together and inspects product and adheres to all production safety guidelines and standards.
Core responsibilities:
- Starts assembly and production machinery at beginning of shift
- Monitors equipment to ensure that quality product is being produced
- Maintains a clean, safe work area and free of hazardous materials
- Keeps production floor clean
- Operates multiple assigned production machines simultaneously
- Ensures production goals and quality standards are met
- Identifies problems or malfunctions with machinery and equipment and report immediately to
supervisor/manager
- Communicates any issues to supervisors in timely fashion
- Confirms machine validation as needed
- Cross-trains on and operates equipment in other production areas
- Performs any other reasonable task when asked
Abilities and other requirements:
- Demonstrates ability to interpret equipment gauges and monitors on production equipment
- Possesses knowledge of the structure and function of production equipment
- Demonstrates analytical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to troubleshoot production issues
- Pays close attention to detail
- Exhibits ability to work cautiously but efficiently
- Is familiar with all production safety procedures and guidelines
- Multitasking in a fast-paced production environment
- Works efficiently and manages time effectively
- Comprehending the English language to follow written procedures
- Reading work orders and labels
- Basic understanding of computer operation
- Possesses physical strength and stamina required to stand and walk for an 8-hour shift
- Lifting 35-50 lbs. without assistance
- Ability to carry work without tripping/falling
- Possesses physical dexterity necessary to assemble small and delicate product parts
Work Environment
- Standard 40-hour workweek applies
- Working hours will be spent on the production floor
- Moderate to heavy physical activity such as walking and lifting is required on a daily basis
- Individuals may be required to handle or transport hazardous chemicals or fragile products
- Safety gear, such as goggles, gloves and helmets {when/where required) should be worn on a regular basis.
Must be physically present on the premises in order to fulfill this position.
