As a Fear Free practice, we focus on customer service and compassionate care for both the clients and their pets. Duties for a technician include but are not limited to :
- Assisting doctor(s) in both exam room care and in surgical procedures
- Obtaining samples for lab work
- Performing radiographs, ear cytologies, urinalysis, and other diagnostics that the doctor orders
- Providing hospitalized care and treatment including injections, IV catheter maintenance, and feedings
- Dental prophys / radiographs
- Prepping / inducing surgical patients as well as overseeing their recovery
- Basic and intermediate client education and communication
- Keeping a clean, safe, and organized work environment
We are searching for an LVT / CVT or Technician with equivalent experience. This is not an entry level position. You must be dependable and in it for the long haul. We work 4 days a week, 10 hour shifts, with a 1-2 hour lunch depending on the day of the week.
Opportunities for advancement and specialized projects available. Must be comfortable handling, or learning to handle, all species including cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, amphibians, fish, small mammals, and invertebrates.
A little about Dr. Head : She practices high quality medicine and offers Spectrum of Care options. Thorough, and detail-oriented, she has a passion for client education, preventive care, and soft tissue surgery in a wide range of patient species. She wants clients to understand the disease processes that affect their pets and the preventive steps they can take to keep their pets healthy. Dr. Head heavily involves the technicians
and staff in that education and care and likes to mentor and delegate.
