What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tarantula shipper. caretaker and wrangler! position at Fear Not Tarantulas, Inc?
Greetings! Fear Not Tarantulas is the largest retailer of tarantulas in the country. We import and breed over 170 species and ship them across the United States. We have a beautiful shop in Virginia Beach with lots of other interesting creatures for folks to check out.
Do you have an interest in entomology and like bugs? We are seeking an addition to our shipping and tarantula care team. This involves putting small spiderlings that are about 1/2" to 1" or so in vials filled with moss to ship to our customers. Attention to detail is required as we have to be careful to ship the right species and size spiderling and to make sure it is healthy for the journey. You will be trained in the fine art of and feeding tarantulas as well!
Experience with animals is helpful but not required. Success at this position requires that work is done very quickly and efficiently. Working with a sense of urgency and meeting goals will be required. This is a very specialized job and training is provided. We do need someone who is committed to being here on our shipping days.
Since this is a job that requires much training, we are seeking someone who is able to be with us at least 6 months.
You must be at least 18 for this position since it is working with arachnids.
