  • AL, FL, GA, TN Residents : $90,015 (min) - $117,019 (mid) - $144,024 (max)
  • NC Residents : $92,799 (min) - $120,639 (mid) - $148,478 (max)
  • DE, MD, PA, TX, VA Residents : $97,439 (min) - $126,671 (mid) - $155,902 (max)
  • DC Residents : $109,503 (min) - $142,354(mid) - $175,204 (max)
  • CA & NY Residents : $113,215(min) - $147,179 (mid) - $181,143 (max)

    What you'll be doing

    TheScrum Master III works directly with an agile team to advise and oversee performance against agile values, practices, and processes. As a servant leader, theScrum Master III monitors team performance through the project's dashboards and helps identify continuous improvement opportunities to help the team work better and smarter. Working with the Product Owner, the Scrum Master III supports the work of the team by maintaining the backlog and facilitating agile ceremonies like stand ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives.

    TheScrum Master III collaborates regularly with the Portfolio Director and / or Program Manager for the project to help prioritize and implement quality agile process initiatives and surface reporting across the business about the status and quality of engineering projects. Where valuable, theScrum Master IIIcontributes to the overall customer and portfolio strategies.

    TheScrum Master IIIalsoserves as an advocate for and subject matter expert on agile at Fearless and externally when needed.

    Responsibilities and Contributions

    Organizational and Leadership Role

  • Leads the team(s) through servant leadership.
  • Coaches and mentors herd members of all knowledge levels.
  • Strengthens and helps build strategy for the agile practice and communities.
  • Functional Role

  • Acts as an extension of Leadership and offers mentoring and counseling to more other members of the herd, including, but not limited to, participating in leadership development, performance management, and digital transformation.
  • Facilitates agile Scrum ceremonies, such as stand-ups, sprint planning, release planning, backlog refinement, and retrospective.
  • Tracks and reports team performance metrics.
  • In partnership with Passion Coach, Portfolio Director, and the team, assists with and implements improvements to agile processes.
  • Plans and coordinates schedules and resolves dependencies with other teams.
  • Provides guidance to the team and customer organization on how to use agile / Scrum practices and values.
  • Provides guidance to the team on how to self-organize.
  • Coaches the team, filling in any gaps in knowledge of agile / Scrum frameworks and processes.
  • Assesses the Scrum maturity of the team and organization, coaching the team to higher levels of maturity at a comfortable and sustainable pace.
  • Manages process improvements and implements necessary changes to get the team on track.
  • Removes impediments or guides the team to remove impediments.
  • Builds a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgement, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
  • Facilitates the team getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
  • Facilitates discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
  • Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
  • Provides all support to the team using servant leadership style and leading by example.
  • Contributes to portfolio activities, including keeping Portfolio Directors and Program Managers in the loop and, where valuable, coordinating across the portfolio with other projects or Scrum Masters.
  • Participates in operational syncs with the Portfolio Director and is able to create action plans.
  • Champions building partner relationships and creating a badgeless environment where every team member is valued.
  • Essential Skills, Experience, or Competencies

    Must-Have Skills

  • Ability to acquire Public Trust Clearance.
  • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a scrum master.
  • Relevant agile certification (CSM, SAFE, ACSM, etc.).
  • Prior experience as a Scrum Master leading teams of various sizes.
  • Prior experience working with a ticketing system such as Jira, Trello, or GitLab.
  • Ability to partner effectively with those in other practice areas, such as Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers, to deliver quality products to customers.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and keep the team focused on the right things.
  • Ability to provide guidance, mentoring, and context to team members.
  • Proven experience rallying a team to deliver on commitments.
  • Proven experience using dashboards and metrics to drive team performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Proven track record of strong servant leadership.
  • Ability to operate and manage work, strategically reason, build relationships, and influence others.
  • Highly Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience working with federal, state or local Government.
  • Experience using product thinking and product management best practices.
  • Experience working with multiple Scrum teams.
  • A bachelor's degree.

  • Business Interview : At this point, you've made it to the final frontier! The Business Interview is when you'll meet with Fearless leadership to dot the i's, cross the t's, and determine whether or not we'll be moving forward with the hiring process.
