Full-time position: Onsite employment in Gladwin, Michigan.
Salary: $65,000 based on experience
Position Summary:
An ideal candidate for our Estimator position would have high levels of accuracy and be able to manage a fast-paced workload. Supporting qualifications are someone who pays great attention to detail, holds high standards for creating accurate estimates, and has experience in estimating across multiple divisions. An Estimator should have excellent customer service and communication skills to create professional relationships with our subcontractors. We are looking for a team player that matches our culture and core values and wants to grow their career with us. Commercial Construction experience is a requirement.

Objectives and Competencies:
Typical duties of an Estimator would include the following requirements of the position:
- Accepting goals from the Chief Estimator to achieve an aggressive bid-hit-win ratio.
- Successfully hitting all owner-committed bid due dates.
- Uphold a professional representation of FED Corporation to subcontractors and clients.
- Be confident in their ability to lead and take charge of a project.
- Coordinate all proposals and bid requirements at the direction of your supervisor.
- Maintain accurate estimating workbook templates.
- Update and maintain a cost history library.
- Review final completed job costs compared to bid estimate with Project Managers and Site Supervisors.
- Manage company master sub-list database and bid request software.
- Assist all our Project Managers with change order pricing as needed.
- Set up project bid request software and track subcontractors bidding jobs weekly.
- Visit job sites before bidding to review site conditions and general conditions.
Education and Experience: Minimum five years of experience estimating at a commercial construction level or related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, PlanSwift, and CostX are preferred. Experience in estimating supply and erect of pre-engineered metal buildings is beneficial.
Physical Requirements: Individual will be required to perform desk-required functions for much of their day. Sitting, bending, filing, and stretching are included. Travel to visit potential job sites will be required for this position. Employee must be able to sit in a vehicle for an extended period and walk on construction sites that may contain uneven or elevated terrain.
