What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Support Specialist II - (ACH Support) position at FedChoice Federal Credit Union?
We are looking for a motivated, member-focused, target-driven team member to join our Operations Support team as an Operations Support Specialist II. This position will be required to work on-site daily at our Lanham, MD location.
What you will be doing:
FedChoice is looking for an Operations Support Specialist II to provide support in processing incoming wire transfer requests, Share Draft processing, and serving as ACH processor backup. The position will provide additional assistance to the Operations Support Department supporting on rotation for mail processing/return mail, mailroom duties, deceased and special accounts maintenance and responding to incoming email inquiries and requests.
Key Areas of Focus:
- Assumes responsibility for the efficient, effective, and accurate performance of assigned support functions including-
- Process outgoing Wire Transfers (domestic and international) including collecting fee
- Maintains the Credit Union’s Share Draft processes including returns and draft clearings
- Responsible for the Share Drafts Exceptions processing
- Process Share Draft disputes and unauthorized transactions
- Serves as backup to the ACH Specialist for ACH Processing-
- Assists with ACH stop payments
- Assists with Return Deposit Items (RDI)
- Assist with annual ACH audits
- Provides support to the Operations Support department-
- Assists with responding to incoming email requests from internal/external members in a timely manner
- Assists with vendor email inquiries/requests
- Assist with new member account funding
- Assists with reviewing Share Certificates and IRA Share Certificates and ACH Death Notice reports
- Assists with daily mail teller processing
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with area staff and management-
- Communicates the status of projects and tasks to applicable stakeholders
- Coordinates tasks and assignments with applicable stakeholders
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
You should have:
- Minimum two (2) years of financial institution experience.
Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification preferred.
- Basic understanding of Credit Union operations.
- Knowledge of Financial Service Advisor (teller) operations and procedures.
