What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Comptroller/Office Manager position at Feddon Automotive Group?
Experienced automotive Controller needed for family-owned new car dealership in the greater Huntsville, AL market (this location is part of a four-store dealer group and looking to grow). Due to rapid growth, we in need of a well qualified team member with General Motors experience. The dealer is just coming out of the yearly audit with clean books. It is imperative that the person hired has a strong background in dealership accounting and can do the month-end financial statement. Moreover, it is important that Controller hired is a great leader to their accounting staff and is strong at communicating, delegating, training, and holding their team accountable. The position will report directly to the Dealer Principal and will work closely with the dealership's General Manager on a day-to-day business.
Balancing Schedules in all 4 departments plus ADMIN. Oversight of bank reconciliation (Dailies) is a plus. As well as oversight of and day to day AR/AP. Reconciliation of all parts tape adjustments to Accounting. Knowledge of CDK, and any Alabama and Tennessee / GA title work is a plus as well as software companies that streamline tag work.
Reconciliation of General Ledger monthly, as well as monthly final bank reconciliation before OEM Submission. Knowledge with GM and or CDJR OEM is a plus.
The Automotive Controller will be responsible to manage the financial activities of the dealership and ensure that financial goals are met. This person will be responsible to close out the month, maintain accurate financial records, analyze financial data, prepare financial reports, and provide financial guidance to management. This is a great position for a Controller with an interactive management style as the dealer cares about the Controller working well with the other managers in the staff to achieve common goals. Experience on CDK is preferred, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain regular communication with the Dealer Principal on the standings of the dealership, cost saving measures, and any issues that may require their attention
