As a Government Information Specialist, you will provide support in a developmental capacity as a specialist on FBI Freedom of Information/Privacy Act (FOIPA) requests and cases involving common problems or issues. Complexity begins to increase with experience. Knowledge of governing legal and regulatory guidelines, and of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to perform assignments properly and accurately is preferred but not mandatory. As a Government Information Specialist, your duties could include: * Analyzing issues, developing alternatives, and making recommendations * Serving as a resource and point of contact on matters involving FOIPA, national security, classification, and the FBI * Providing key input and updates to the FOIPA processing database based upon findings and conclusions * Creating oral and written communication to coordinate, advise, and convey recommendations Questions regarding this opening should be directed to with the subject line "2023 CHI Government Information Specialist - Questions". Job Summary Position: Government Information Specialist, GS 7/9 Locations: Pocatello, ID; Winchester, VA; Savannah, GA Working Hours: Will vary depending on Division needs Travel: Will vary depending on Division needs Salary Salary shown is the BASE SALARY for the grade level. Appropriate locality pay will be applied according to the location of the official duty station. GS-7: $40,082.00 - $52,106.00; GS-9: $49,028.00 - $63,734.00; Full Performance Level : GS-12 Duration: Full-Time / Permanent Key Requirements 1. You must have graduated or will be graduating between May 2021 and June 2023 (Veterans: May 2017 and June 2023) 2. You must have a graduating GPA of no less than 2.95 on a 4.0 scale
3. Must be able to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance
4. You must not be a current, permanent FBI employee If you do not meet all of the key requirements, you are NOT eligible for the FBI's Collegiate Hiring Initiative (CHI). Education All degrees must be from an accredited college or university. Transcripts are required for the FBI's Collegiate Hiring Initiative. GS-07 : Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement or one (1) full year of graduate level education. GS-09: Applicant must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements provided you can show foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States. Applicants will be automatically disqualified if they meet any of the following criteria: 1. You are not a U.S. Citizen (born or naturalized)
2. You have been convicted of a felony
3. You have used illegal drugs in violation of the FBI Employment Drug Policy
4. You have defaulted on a student loan insured by the U.S. Government
5. You have failed an FBI-administered urinalysis drug test
