- As a condition of employment, DNA samples are required from all FBI personnel who interact with evidence or federal DNA database samples in Laboratory Division (LD) space or whose work requires them to enter LD examination areas where evidence or DNA database samples are processed or examined as part of the quality control process to detect sample/evidence contamination, in accordance with the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (GINA), 75 Federal Register (FR) 68932; 29 C.F.R. 1635.8(b)(6).

Major Duties:
- The incumbent independently generates, compiles, maintains, and records a variety of quality assurance and quality control data including, but not limited to, equipment maintenance, performance verification, calibration, proficiency testing, audits, training, technical qualification, and testimony monitoring.
- The incumbent reviews standard operating procedures, as well as develops, evaluates, and writes stand-alone quality system documents for quality assurance and quality control functions as they relate to the performance of quality control testing and evaluation in support of the examination of evidence using DNA and serological analysis methods and techniques.

Specialized Experience (SE):
GS-13: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. SE (in addition to above) is defined as follows:
- Experience evaluating and interpreting data from quality control testing and experience preparing and reviewing quality assurance documentation and communicating orally and in writing quality system concepts.
- Experience following SOPs and utilizing scientific instrumentation for performing forensic DNA testing from evidence.
- Experience being or conducting quality system activities such as proficiency test or audits and/or following, preparing, or reviewing quality system documents.
