Key Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to pass a U.S. Government and Hazmat physical exam.
- Must be able to obtain a Top Secret-SCI clearance.
- Travel will be required.
- Selectee will be required to complete form FD-887, Request for Access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Incumbent may potentially be exposed to violent acts, lewd images, isolated working conditions, and under water crime scenes.
- Selectee must serve on a rotating call schedule and be able to respond 24/7 for worldwide deployments while on call.
- As a condition of employment, DNA samples are required from all FBI personnel who interact with evidence or federal DNA database samples in Laboratory Division (LD) space or whose work requires them to enter LD examination areas where evidence or DNA database samples are processed or examined as part of the quality control process to detect sample/evidence contamination, in accordance with the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (GINA), 75 Federal Register (FR) 68932; 29 C.F.R. 1635.8(b)(6).

Major Duties
- Serve on a team that is responsible for high hazard response programs and operations conducted throughout the world. Deploy to major forensic and law enforcement operations involving high hazard environments to include complex evidence recovery operations; confined spaces, rope operations; excavations; unstable structures; and hazardous materials as well as in response to the criminal release/suspected release of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear weapons of mass destruction.
- Provide operational safety oversight, logistics, and medical support for complex high hazard FBI evidence recovery operations. Provide liaison with federal and local emergency responders, especially in matters of safety and high hazard technical operations.
- Assigned one or more technical hazards programs in support of training or operations. Develop Standard of Operation Procedures (SOPs), Field Operating Guides (FOGs), and other work processes and procedures regarding work operations/functions. Responsible for the implementation, and maintenance of program objectives. This includes advising on resource requirements.
- Require rotational on-call availability 24/7 to respond to assignments throughout the world in support of the FBI's mission. Will be required to maintain various certifications in support for this position.

Specialized Experience (SE):
GS-11: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
- Must be currently certified as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) or Paramedic by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Preference will be provided to Paramedic.
- Must possess Firefighter I and II certifications that meet the NFPA 1001-19 Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualification, and are accredited through the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (NBFSPQ/Pro Board) and/or recognized by International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC).
- Must possess Hazardous Materials Operations or Technician certification that meets the NFPA 1072 Standard for Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Emergency Response Personnel Professional Qualifications, and accredited through the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (NBFSPQ/Pro Board) and/or recognized by International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC). Preference will be provided to Hazardous Materials Technicians certified through course curriculum that aligns with NFPA 1072.
GS-12: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. SE (in addition to above) is defined as follows:
- Experience in safety compliance matters to include OSHA regulations and NFPA standards.
- Experience in providing training for high hazard and complex operations.
- Experience in research, problem-solving, analyzing issues, and making recommendations.
Education
All degrees must be from an accredited college or university. Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
GS-11: Applicant must have a Ph.D. OR equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related.
