Salary: Salary shown is the BASE SALARY for the grade level. Appropriate locality pay will be applied according to the location of the official duty station.

GS-13 $90,025.00-$117,034.00

Mission Statement:

Major Duties:
GS-12:
- Configure, manage, and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure within the various data centers.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain all firmware and software updates for network gear throughout the data centers.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on any tasks.
- Resolve, work, and provide excellent customer service while resolving tickets from various ticketing systems assigned to the team.
GS-13:
- Produce documentation, reports, diagrams, and technical specifications to facilitate planning, proposals, new/updated procedures, new implementation, or upgrades of the IT infrastructure.
- Provide advice and guidance to management regarding technical issues which pertain to the planning, designing, developing, procuring, implementing, operating, and maintaining of the organization's IT systems.
- Serve as point of contact of customer and user complaints concerning computer malfunctions, analyzing, and troubleshooting error conditions of varying complexity.
- Assist and provide customers with documentation for new or existing network equipment integration within the data center while maintaining data center standards for network configurations, integration, or removal.
- Monitor and resolve tickets assigned to the data center network team with minimal assistance.
- Study, analyze and develop work measurement and other statistical methods to arrive at quantitative data necessary for analysis to improve accuracy, timeliness, and validity of various services.
- Serve as Team Leader on large and complex projects, as required.
- Serve as a liaison with internal and external IT groups and others, such as, but not limited to: Servers, Networking, Engineering, Facilities, Security, and Customers.

Specialized Experience (SE):
GS-12: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
- Experience in configuring, managing, and monitoring data center or Enterprise network equipment.
- Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) in a multi-tenant, multi-site, data center or Enterprise environment.
- Experience networking.
- Experience with Bridge Domain, VRF, VPC, EPG, and Contracts.
GS-13: In addition to the above, applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
- Experience providing expert advice and guidance to management regarding technical issues which pertain to the planning, designing, developing, procuring, implementing, operating and maintaining of the organization's IT systems.
- Experience leading a team-based environment of technical personnel in complex and mission critical projects.
- Experience managing and successfully completing complex IT projects.
