Personal Care Aide (PCA)

General Duties of a Personal Care Assistant:

- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Help with meal preparation and feeding
- Provide medication reminders and assistance with medication administration
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry and tidying up
- Accompany clients to appointments and outings
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients

Specific Case Requirements: This client is an elderly woman needing extra support during the afternoon for a couple of hours at a time. Her son is home between shifts as a bus driver, and during his time at home he is often too tired to properly attend to his mother, and is seeking an extra pair of hands.

Tasks include the above listed, as well as:

-Supporting the client on walks around the house with client to meet daily movement and exercise goals.

-Occasionally going on walks outside or accompanying client to medical appointments.

Experience:

- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant preferred
- Knowledge of basic caregiving techniques and principles
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with clients in a compassionate and respectful manner
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to different client needs and preferences
