Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader to join our team in the food industry. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and excellent leadership skills to manage staff effectively. As a Shift Leader, you will oversee daily operations, ensure high-quality service, and foster a positive work environment. Your role will involve training development, staff management, and maintaining operational standards.
Position Summary:
The Donut Prep Cook’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Making all varieties of donuts before the store opens. This requires reliable transportation and an ability to work early mornings (4:00am).
- To have an intimate understanding of working with different types of batter and glazes.
- Being held accountable for quality of the donuts being produced with the ability to troubleshoot donut batter and/or equipment issues on their own.
- Working a BOH position which includes preparing sandwiches, donuts, salads, etc. for customers.
- Operating a donut fryer and a chicken fryer.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Makes all varieties of donuts.
- Preparing 9 different varieties of glazed donuts.
- Understanding of different types of batter and how they need to be handled for donut preparation.
- Understanding of different types of glazes and how they need to be treated for donut preparation.
- Must become familiar with using and troubleshooting the Belshaw Donut Robot to be able to make the highest quality donuts possible.
- Be able to execute written Federal Donuts & Chicken recipes.
2. Prepares food for customers.
- Preparation of various sandwiches, hot and fresh donuts, salads, and other miscellaneous fried food items.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
- Demonstrates and reinforces a strong sense of customer service and satisfaction through quality food preparation.
- Follows and enforces ServSafe procedures.
Qualifications, Skills & Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in a bakery-type environment working with batters, breads, etc.
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen with prep and line cooking experience.
- Constant attention to detail with executing donuts at the highest possible level.
- Excellent time management.
- Fluency in English is not required but the employee must be able to communicate in some fashion to their coworkers and customers. They must also have basic reading and writing skills. Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus.
- Ability to communicate with their manager via email and text.
- Consistent and reliable transportation to work.
- Ability to work early mornings alone.
- Individuals must be able to stand for extended periods of time, stock shelves by climbing ladders or stairs, lift and move inventory up to 50 lbs. and determine colors for food prep.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
