Note: This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Essential Job Functions:
- CNC Programming & Validation
- Develop, optimize, and validate CNC machining programs for defense components.
- Simulate toolpaths to detect and prevent errors before production.
- Ensure CAD programming aligns with manufacturability and process efficiency.
- Process Optimization & Material Understanding
- Analyze engineering drawings, BOMs, GD&T, and material properties to refine programming.
- Optimize machining strategies for hard and soft materials, including dissimilar metals.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, tooling design, and defense tolerances.
- Collaboration & Troubleshooting
- Work with design engineers to enhance CAD-based programs for production feasibility.
- Perform machine setup, initial runs, troubleshooting, and post-machining inspections.
- Continuously improve programming strategies and material handling techniques.
Qualifications, Skills and Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in engineering technology or higher preferred
- Advanced skill and proficiency in MasterCAM
- Demonstrated advanced work holding proficiency
- Experience with CAD design and its direct impact on manufacturability.
- Hands-on experience with VERICUT for CNC program validation & simulation.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, tooling design, and defense tolerances.
- Experience machining hard and soft materials, including dissimilar metals.
- Tool design experience a plus

- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Intermediate to expert knowledge of Y14.5-1994
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Works well in a fast-faced environment with minimal day-to-day supervision
