REPORTS TO : Director of Product Delivery
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Senior Manager of Quality Engineering (QE) plays a key role in driving the Office of Finance’s (OF) transformation as we evolve our development practices to embrace modern Agile methodologies. This position leads and shapes the future of our Quality Engineering function as we integrate quality practices throughout the Agile development lifecycle. The Senior Manager is responsible for building a high-performing team, implementing innovative testing strategies, and ensuring the highest quality standards across our product development processes.
The Senior Manager of QE will work closely with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to define and implement quality strategies that align with business objectives. This role is responsible for influencing key decisions, guiding the team through an evolving environment, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and agility. We are looking for a strong, results-oriented leader who can inspire and develop a high-performing team, while ensuring the delivery of reliable, high-quality software solutions. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute a talent development plan, including performance reviews, career development, and training initiatives
Develop and implement quality engineering strategies that align with business objectives, ensuring software products meet both functional and business quality requirements
Champion the integration of quality assurance into the Agile development lifecycle, ensuring early issue detection and fostering a continuous feedback loop
Ensure comprehensive test coverage for both functional and non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, security)
Advocate for the adoption of industry best practices in quality engineering, including shift-left testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and senior leadership, to align quality goals and deliverables
Proactively identify potential quality risks early in the software development lifecycle
