Job Summary
The Microbiology Lab Technician will assist in conducting microbiological tests, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The technician will work closely with production and quality control teams to monitor and ensure that all products meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine microbiological testing on environmental samples, raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet company and regulatory standards.
- Document and report test results in compliance with good laboratory practices (GLP) and company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure accurate and precise results.
- Assist in the investigation of microbiological issues related to product quality or contamination and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for laboratory processes.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new microbiological testing methods as needed.
- Maintain and update laboratory records and documentation in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology, Biology or related field.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines (FDA, GMP, etc.) and laboratory safety protocols.
- 1-2 years of experience working in a microbiology lab, preferred.
