Employees are expected to live within a commutable distance of their primary work location to support team collaboration.What we do : As a member of Markets Technology Delivery supporting the Markets business domain, the area responsible for the Auctions, Trading Desks, Decision Support Applications and Reference Rates production, you will implement financial applications and tools in support of Markets’ auctions, trading, operations planning and execution, and rates production. You will be part of an agile squad that requires close collaboration with other members of the technology team, business users, and other development squad members.Your role as a Web Applications (Java / Javascript) - Software Solutions Specialist : A member of the squad is responsible for the delivery of business value working directly with the business area. Developers on the squad are expected to deliver, in a fast-paced environment, integrations and business operations workflows for different domains within the Markets Business line (Auctions, Trading, Operations Planning and Rates Production products). Developers on the squad are expected to deliver frond-end, mid-tier integration and backend functionality (i.e. full-stack developers).What we are looking for : We are looking for a developer who has experienced success across multiple products simultaneously. Just as important we are looking for candidates who have demonstrated a willingness to contribute across multiple development stacks, areas and technologies.Qualifications for these include and not limited to : Strong analytical and communication skills.Ability to design and implement interfaces by incorporating established best practices.Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practicesExcellent problem-solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to effectively communicate design concepts and decisionsExperience with user research methods, including interviews, usability testing, and data analysisPlan, design, and execute a variety of user research methods such as interviews, usability testing, contextual inquiries, surveysContinuously learn about the customer, their business needs, and contribution of the product to their desired outcomesPossess enough business and technical knowledge about the product to engage in team discussions.Develop user personas, customer journey maps, and other user experience artifacts to socialize research findingsRequired : Proficiency in design tools such as Figma (preferred), Mural, Sketch, Adobe Creative CloudPreferred Experience : Building and testing systems end-to-end.Preferred Experience : Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and how design translates to developmentPartner with product owners, designers, and UI engineers to translate research into actionable product requirements and design recommendationsWork within the Agile team to communicate, re-enforce the vision, goals, and product roadmap, in the form of features / stories.Stay up-to-date on the latest UX research trends and methodologies and recommend improvements to our research practicesCollaborate with the broader UX team to ensure consistent user-centered design practices across the organizationExperience using Continuous Integration and Deployment tools such as Gitlab / Jenkins, etc.Experience building decision support applications for operations and trading in the financial industry.Salary Range : $150100 - $246000 / yearWe believe in transparency at the NY Fed.
