What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Technician position at Federal Signal Corporation?
Key Activities/Responsibilities
- Train with multiple departments/disciplines (sales, operations, etc.) throughout the company on a rotation schedule
- Serve as a technical resource and answer customer questions about existing products
- Receive incoming customer call for quotes, order, and questions about existing products
- Proactively follow up on quotes to close orders
- Subject matter expert on Jetstream parts, pumps, and accessories
- Increase average order size by upselling during incoming calls
- Support outside sales by answering questions, quoting, and entering orders
- Attend Trade Shows
- Perform ride-alongs with the outside sales team
- Work with regional team to map, manage, and update the customer base via CRM
- Recommend new product changes as well as other new product ideas.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 10%
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- 0-5 years of technical inside sales or related experience required.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office software suite
- High energy self-starter, that works well in team settings and can work with minimal guidance at times.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of various sales and service teams.
- Strong desire to work with both internal and external customers
- Must possess a high degree of initiative and can assist in making sound, business decisions
- Demonstrated excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required
- Skilled at presenting information via electronic or face-to-face modalities that engages the audience and transmits relevant and correct product information
- Highly organized and able to manage wide range of administrative duties with competing priorities.
