What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping/Receiving Clerk - Coordinator position at Federal Signal?
The successful candidate will provide general clerical support within the Shipping & Receiving departments to help deliver both internal and external customer satisfaction.
Key Activities/Responsibilities:
- Communicates with Operations/ Production and Customer Service Representatives to anticipate/coordinate larger domestic and/or international shipments requiring extra-ordinary resources.
- Expedites past due orders and long lead times to satisfy customer needs.
- Maintains various records, reports, receipts and other important documents as required.
- Assists with bin location maintenance and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Communicates with Customer Service Representatives/Operations via phone, email or in person on the status of specific shipments
- Assist with order management and problem/reject racks.
- Partners with third party vendors to research and resolve customer inquiries and issues
- Orders supplies needed for department.
- Manage the flow of orders through the warehouse that do not follow standard processes (i.e. EVIP, SMV, large orders)
- Resolves open order (backlog) report issues of low to moderate complexity and reaches out to supply chain or factory to determine source of delay
- Establishes and maintains one central source of information for ship complete orders, large orders, and expedited orders as well as finished goods shortages.
- Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Job Experience/Skills Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Smartsheet & Outlook applications required.
- Minimum of three years in Manufacturing and Warehouse Environment required
- Enterprise resource planning (ERP) business process management software experience such as JD Edwards, FP highly preferred.
- Self starter with initiative and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good organizational skills
- Excellent, clear and concise communication skills, both in verbal and written formats
Salary Range: $40,053/yr - $57,219/yr
