What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front-End Developer position at Federated Auto Parts Distributors Inc.?
Federated Auto Parts is looking for a high-powered front-end developer to help us modernize our
existing web applications and develop brand new greenfield solutions for our massive user base of
tens of thousands of automotive shops and distributors. We run like an in-house incubator, delivering
custom solutions for our members with a lean, startup-like mentality. Our services reach hundreds of
thousands of daily users, and transact hundreds of millions of dollars per year. In other words, we are
the valley's best-kept high-tech secret.
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Front-End Developer with a desire to learn and a passion
for new technology. Our stack ranges from legacy .NET Framework and AngularJS, to brand-
spankin'-new tech like Flutter and Supabase/Postgres for our new products. We leverage state of the
art AI models for amplifying the impact of developers, however, good CS fundamentals are required
and will be tested as a part of the interview! Ideal candidate has good CS fundamentals but a degree
is not necessarily required. We value a curious mind, attention to detail, and beautiful, user-friendly
interface implementations!
Our ideal candidate:
- Has written some pure HTML/JS/CSS websites that are visible on the public web.
- Has a portfolio we can see of completed projects, and some code visible on Github.
- Is not afraid of Linux and knows their way around the command line.
- Is at least moderately interested in the Automotive industry/aftermarket!
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent verbal and writing communication skills
- Experience with front end mobile or web development using frameworks like Angular, React, Flutter
- Solid understanding and working experience with HTML/CSS/JS, as well as Git/Version Control
- Experience with test automation using puppeteer or similar
- Good UI/UX sensibility or design skills
Conditions of Employment
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related area preferred
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test
Work Schedule
An “eight-to-five” work schedule is typical for most weekdays, but should be flexible to work evenings and/or weekends in some cases in order to meet stringent project timelines and provide quality products and services.
