Job Summary
The Communications Officer plays a vital role in ensuring effective communication within the organization and with external stakeholders. This position is responsible for managing communication channels, facilitating information flow, and providing support in emergency situations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and negotiation skills, as well as proficiency in various communication technologies.
Responsibilities
- Manage incoming and outgoing communications through various channels, including phone systems and digital platforms.
- Transcribe and document radio & telephone communications accurately to maintain clear records of incidents via Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
- Utilize GPS and GIS technologies to assist in location-based communications and coordination efforts.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while demonstrating excellent phone & radio etiquette in all interactions.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, security, bail enforcement, fire/EMS, & other agencies when necessary to ensure effective communication during critical incidents.
- Monitor alarms/camera systems and dispatch officers to respond to alarm drops or suspicious activity.
Skills
- Excellent negotiation abilities to facilitate discussions and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Proficiency in operating phone systems and other communication technologies.
- Familiarity with GPS and GIS tools for enhanced operational efficiency.
- Ability to transcribe information accurately and efficiently.
- Typing proficiency for documentation purposes.
- Knowledge of first aid practices to provide immediate assistance over the phone when needed.
- Exceptional phone etiquette to ensure positive interactions with all stakeholders.
- Understanding of law enforcement & other emergency services protocols to enhance collaboration during incidents.
This role is essential for maintaining clear communication within the organization while supporting operational needs effectively.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
