What Will You Do?

As Staff Counsel for Home Office Property and Casualty Claims you will provide legal counsel and recommendations to assist Federated’s P&C Claims team on complex claim-related matters and lawsuits against policyholders and against Federated itself. Staff Counsel also assists with ongoing training and education for claims personnel as well as various claims-related and cross-functional company initiatives. This dynamic role, located at Federated’s national headquarters in Owatonna, Minnesota, requires an individual with a strong litigation background in tort claim and insurance coverage-related matters who has effective communication and relationship-building skills.

Additional Qualifications Required

  • Juris Doctorate.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience demonstrating the ability to successfully manage complex and large-value claim and litigation matters.
  • Private practice experience strongly preferred.

Candidates with more extensive experience are encouraged to apply. Starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience.
