Mortgage Loan Officer

Federation Bank Washington Iowa has an opening for a full-time Mortgage Loan Officer. The position will focus on residential, construction and consumer loans. Knowledge of agricultural and commercial is a plus. The bank does a considerable amount of business with secondary market mortgage loans. The successful candidate will be active in the community maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services. This position assists in attaining established goals through active participation in sales calls and meetings.

• Interview applicants and underwrite loans by obtaining personal and financial data required for loan applications, analyze all information acquired from the credit bureau, personal references, etc., in order to make a good credit decision.
• Approve loans within specified limits or present the loan application to the Loan Committee for approval.
• Maintain current knowledge of all regulatory issues and conduct appropriate employee training on regulatory and other issues.
• Engage in various activities to solicit business from existing and non-customer.
• Maintain community and professional relationships for business development.
• Responsible for collection of delinquent or problem loans, and overdrawn checking accounts.
• Recent training on RESPA and TILA compliance.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Develops, negotiates, and coordinates the closing of residential and consumer loans.
• Strong public relations skills as well as verbal and written skills.

Prior experience required.

Must have an active Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) number or able to obtain one.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, marketing or related field with two plus years of related experience (direct mortgage lending experience strongly preferred). Will consider combination of experience and/or education in lieu of degree.

Knowledge of ComplianceOne Mortgage is a plus.
