What skills do you need to show proficiency (or higher) in order to be a strong candidate?
- Knowledge of the US federal energy ecosystem and the broader energy and environmental policy landscape.
- Knowledge of the state energy regulatory system; relationships (or demonstrated capacity to build relationships) with state energy regulators, public utility commissions (PUCs), and independent system operators (ISOs).
- Interest in accelerating the transition to clean energy; technical knowledge of various topics within the energy sector. Specific experience with transportation energy, geothermal energy, grid technology and operations, and / or the energy supply chain is a bonus.
- Experience in overseeing, developing, and managing the full life cycle of project plans; capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Interest in managing staff. While prior formal managerial experience is not a requirement for this position, you should be able to explain why you would be able to take on this responsibility and provide examples of relevant experience.
- Experience in building and managing budgets; experience in the nonprofit context is a bonus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate and collaborate with diverse teams.

This position will be a hybrid role, meaning that both remote and in-person work can be accommodated, generally two to three days per week on-site, and two to three days per week remote. For this role, much of the work will be relationship building and meeting with federal government officials within Washington, DC.
