Job Summary:
Essential Duties and Functions:
- Manage the administration and financial control of grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations, funding provisions, and organizational policies.
- Monitor the allocation and disbursement of grant funds, ensuring adherence to approved budgets and financial controls.
- Financial reporting, expense tracking, reconciliations and grant related documentation submissions
- Work with and adhere to grant related financial systems, internal controls and record retention policies
- Manage project budgets for funding applications, ensuring alignment with grant requirements.
- Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and best practice grant accounting standards, including compliance audits.
- May supervise staff responsible for transactions, invoicing and reporting
- Provide training and oversight to ensure accurate and compliant financial practices.
- Utilize data-driven analysis and CRM systems to track program performance, facilitate outreach, and support forecasting
- Participate in cross-functional coordination to ensure program objectives, departmental milestones, and budgets are met
- Develop, procedures, and strategies to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
- May assist in the development of grant applications or proposals.
Requirements for this position include:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP principles.
- Accounting software commonly used in nonprofit sectors (e.g., QuickBooks and Sage Intacct).
- Knowledge of revenue and expenses
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field required.

Experience:
- 5 years of accounting or related experience required.
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience in financial operations or grant compliance preferred.
- Experience managing federal, state, and private grants and contracts including grant reporting, tracking, and financial reporting requirements, and ensuring compliance with specific regulations (e.g., OMB Circular A-133, 2 CFR Part 200).
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Primarily a sedentary role, requiring extensive use of a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
- Minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
