Logistics Delivery Specialist

Job Description

FedEx Freight is seeking a highly skilled City Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering freight between Service Centers and customers while supporting the selling process.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples, and/or straight trucks, in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies from tractors and/or trailers, as required.
• Handle freight using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Repair damaged freight when necessary and verify documentation for all deliveries.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures at all times.
• Collect cash or checks for freight charges and maintain required documentation.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate with dispatch regarding delays, arrivals, and equipment issues.

Requirements

• Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements.
• At least one year of experience within the past three years or successful completion of the FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier (FMC) regulations.
• Long combination vehicles (LCVs), such as triple trailers and turnpike doubles, are operated in specific states.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hourly pay range: $31.71 - $36.71 per hour; mileage pay range: $0.7302 - $0.8452 per mile, plus fixed pay for linehaul-related tasks.
