Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Truck Boss to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining fleet of 9 semis, coordinating with drivers , ordering parts, filling in as a driver from time to time. This role requires strong communication skills ,good people skills, attention to detail, making sure trucks are good for their next run. The Truck boss will play a crucial role in ensuring that our clients receive their products on time and in excellent condition. This is a phone on 24/7 position as we have trucks running 24/7 and drivers could need assistance.
Duties
- Operate and drive heavy trucks to transport goods to various locations as needed. (Fill in for full time drivers)
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Complete Monthly maintenance reports
- Diagnose trucks with issues and coordinate the maintenance work to be completed.
- Taxi trucks around town for work to be done.
- Collaborate with dispatchers and other team members to optimize delivery routes.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal transportation laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license A (CDL) is required with doubles-triples.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in person.
- Tractor trailer experience.
- Proficient in using office software for record keeping and reporting purposes.
- Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to pass background checks and drug test as required by company policies.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
