Job Overview
FedEx Freight is seeking a skilled and experienced City Delivery Driver to join our team. As a vital member of our operations, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient delivery of freight throughout the city.
Our ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of logistics and transportation principles, with excellent communication and customer service skills. You will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer combination, navigating through urban areas, and delivering freight to customers on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and triples, and/or straight trucks
- Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment
- Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer
- Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies
- Verify and complete required documentation and reports
Requirements:
- Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements
- Must possess one year of experience within the last three years or successful completion of the FedEx Freight Driver Development Course
- Must possess an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
