Reports to: Information Security Technical Supervisor

Job Description:

Role and Responsibilities

The Cybersecurity Analyst completes assigned tasks in the FedEx InfoSec environment to meet the overall project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop alerts and fine-tune existing alerts to improve detection accuracy and reduce false positives.?
• Design and develop custom alerts to detect security incidents and anomalies.
• Use Splunks search processing language (SPL) to query, analyze, and visualize data for alerting and investigation purposes.?
• Conduct regular reviews and updates of alert logic to stay aligned with evolving threats and attack vectors.
• Utilize advanced tools and methodologies to investigate potential cybersecurity threats.
• Manage workflows and projects dynamically using Agile methodologies.
• Document alerting processes, procedures, and configurations to support knowledge sharing and training.
• Communicate technical issues and resolutions to Client, the team and leadership.?
• Communicate effectively with FedEx cybersecurity teams in alignment with UMRFV leadership.?
• Attend team and client meetings to collaborate, share updates, and align on objectives.
• Adhere to UMRFV guidelines and policies.
• Additional responsibilities are defined between the Technical Supervisor and the employee depending on company needs and the employees availability

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Currently enrolled college student.
• Graduate student in STEM discipline preferred.
