About the Role:
We are seeking two high-performing Business Development Managers with deep domain knowledge and relationships within the Department of Defence (DoD), specifically the U.S. Air Force. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in federal business development, capture strategy, and relationship building — with a proven ability to shape and secure defence-related opportunities.
This role is ideal for a retired military professional or someone with prior government experience looking to apply their mission knowledge in a dynamic growth-oriented environment.
Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Montgomery, AL / Wright-Patterson AFB, OH / Bolling AFB, Washington, DC / Northern Virginia (Remote)
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the U.S. Air Force and broader DoD ecosystem.
- Lead capture and pursuit activities from early opportunity shaping through proposal submission.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, stakeholders, and strategic partners.
- Monitor and assess federal budgets, solicitations (RFIs, RFPs), and upcoming opportunities.
- Develop and execute account plans aligned with organizational growth strategy.
- Collaborate with technical, proposal, and executive teams to align offerings with customer needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in federal business development, capture management, or defense consulting.
- Deep familiarity with USAF acquisition, procurement processes, and mission requirements.
- Strong network of contacts within Air Force, DoD, and defense contractor ecosystem.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and proposal support skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally to client or company locations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Retired U.S. Air Force or DoD personnel.
- Prior BD or program management experience post-military.
- Experience supporting efforts at Maxwell AFB (Montgomery, AL), Wright-Patterson AFB (OH), Bolling AFB (DC), or the Pentagon / Northern VA region.
- Understanding of GWACs, IDIQs, SBIRs/STTRs, and other federal contracting vehicles.
