About the Opportunity: FedTec is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Fort Bragg, NC. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of networking principles and technologies, particularly in a secure DoD environment, and demonstrates expertise in Juniper switching, Cisco ISE, and storage area networks. This role demands a meticulous approach to security, including familiarity with STIG implementation and compliance.
Position: Senior Network Engineer
Work Location: Ft. Bragg, NC (On-Site)
Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance (or higher)
Certifications: Relevant Industry Certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, CISSP (Preferred but not required)
Primary Responsibilities
Network Design, Implementation, and Support:
- Design, implement, and maintain a robust and secure network infrastructure, adhering to DoD standards and best practices.
- Configure and manage Juniper switches and Aruba switches.
- Implement and manage Cisco ISE for network access control and security policy enforcement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation.
- Manage and maintain storage area networks utilizing technologies such as 3PAR and NetApp.
- Configure and troubleshoot SAN network connectivity, including fiber channel and iSCSI protocols.
- Implement and maintain security hardening measures according to DISA STIGs.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments across managed networks.
- Stay abreast of evolving security threats and industry best practices for managed networks.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work effectively within a team environment, collaborating with other engineers and IT professionals.
- Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer in a DoD environment.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, VPN).
- Extensive experience with Juniper switching and routing platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco ISE implementation and management.
- Familiarity with storage area network technologies (3PAR, NetApp).
- Experience with security hardening and STIG implementation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, CISSP).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- Knowledge of cloud networking concepts.

Salary : $102,300 - $140,200
