Roles and Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and manage SharePoint servers and related infrastructure components (web servers, databases, application servers).
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance optimization strategies.
- Manage server storage, including data backups, archiving, and disaster recovery procedures
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain compatibility and security.
- Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data within SharePoint, including user permissions, site collection access controls, and content type restrictions.
- Monitor for suspicious activity and address potential security breaches.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Manage data governance policies, including content types, metadata, and retention rules.
- Implement data migration strategies to move content from legacy systems to SharePoint.
- Monitor data usage and optimize storage allocation.
- Create and manage user accounts, assigning appropriate permissions and roles within SharePoint.
- Provide technical support to users regarding SharePoint functionalities and troubleshooting issues.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate SharePoint with other enterprise applications and systems.
- Develop custom workflows and solutions using SharePoint Designer or other development tools.
- Utilize monitoring tools to identify and resolve performance issues, system errors, and user access problems.
- Generate reports on SharePoint usage and key performance indicators to inform decision-making.
- Proven experience administering SharePoint on-premises or online environments.
- Expertise in SharePoint architecture, configuration, and administration tools.
- Strong understanding of database management concepts (SQL Server).
- Knowledge of network infrastructure and security best practices.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation tasks.
- IAT II certified
