Job Overview:
We are seeking a Security Specialist to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Program Development: Design and develop a comprehensive training plan to support the successful rollout of the Cloud-Based ITSM and Asset Management Program. Customize learning modules to address the needs of different user roles, including IT staff, asset managers, service desk agents, and business stakeholders.
Curriculum & Materials Creation: Develop and maintain detailed training materials including user guides, quick reference sheets, video tutorials, interactive simulations, and job aids. Create scenario-based training aligned with real-world use cases to reinforce learning.
Training Delivery: Conduct instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), and hands-on workshops. Offer live support during key phases of rollout (e.g., pilot testing, go-live, stabilization period).
End-User Enablement & Support: Ensure users understand how to perform key tasks in the ITSM/ITAM platform such as ticket creation, workflow approvals, asset tracking, and reporting. Provide just-in-time training and post-rollout refreshers to boost adoption and productivity.
Change Management & Adoption Support: Partner with project leads and change management teams to support communication strategies and promote user engagement. Identify training-related risks to adoption and provide solutions to increase system buy-in.
Learning Assessment & Feedback: Develop and administer training assessments to measure knowledge retention and effectiveness. Collect feedback from training participants and stakeholders to continuously improve training content and delivery.
Ongoing Education & Knowledge Transfer: Provide ongoing training for new hires, system updates, and ITSM/Asset Management process improvements. Document and transfer training program ownership to internal City staff for long-term sustainability.
LMS & Knowledge Base Integration: Upload and manage training materials in the City's Learning Management System (LMS) and contribute to the ITSM knowledge base for self-service support. Support knowledge article creation, version control, and publishing.
Collaboration with Technical Teams: Work closely with project managers, developers, system administrators, and security staff to ensure training materials are aligned with system configurations and user needs. Participate in system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) to gain firsthand insight into workflows and interfaces.
Reporting & Documentation: Track training attendance, user proficiency metrics, and adoption KPIs. Provide regular training status reports to project leadership and stakeholders.
Experience:
· Minimum 10 years of experience designing, developing, and delivering training programs in enterprise or public sector IT environments.
· At least 5 years of experience supporting training for ITSM/ITAM systems, including cloud-based platforms such as ServiceNow, Ivanti, BMC Helix, or Freshservice.
· Proven success training diverse user groups including IT personnel, administrators, service desk staff, and end-users.
Technical Skills:
· Deep understanding of ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, etc.), and Asset Management best practices.
· Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, engaging, and accessible learning content for non-technical audiences.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills for delivering live and virtual instruction.
· Experience with eLearning development tools, webinars, and blended learning strategies.
· Knowledge of government IT policies, user adoption strategies, and change management techniques.
Education & Certifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in education, Instructional Design, Information Technology, Organizational Development, or a related field.
· Certification in adult learning and instructional design methodologies (e.g., Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), CompTIA CTT , ATD Master Trainer, or equivalent).
- ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation certification preferred.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital training tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, or similar platforms).
