Job Description:
FedVet is currently seeking a Quality Control Manager (QCM) with a specialized educational background in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in federal contracting, particularly with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Procore, and USACE RMS is essential for effective project management and meticulous documentation. The QCM plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the construction project meets all the required standards and specifications, ultimately leading to the successful completion of the project within the USACE framework.
Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance and Control: Implement and manage the Quality Control Plan. Ensure that construction activities comply with the project specifications, USACE requirements, and industry standards. Inspect and monitor work to guarantee that quality standards are met.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of quality control activities, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective actions. Prepare and submit regular quality control reports to USACE and project stakeholders.
- Coordination and Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and USACE representatives. Facilitate communication regarding quality issues and standards among all parties involved in the project.
- Compliance with Laws and Regulations: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as environmental and safety standards. This includes adhering to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and USACE safety protocols.
- Testing and Inspection: Oversee and coordinate testing and inspection activities. This may involve working with external testing agencies for materials and construction methods.
- Training and Supervision: Provide training to the project team on quality control procedures and standards. Supervise and guide team members in quality control practices.
- Problem Resolution: Identify quality issues and non-conformance. Develop and implement corrective actions to resolve these issues and prevent their recurrence.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and improve quality control processes and procedures. Stay updated with the latest best practices in quality management and construction technology.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks related to quality and implement measures to mitigate them.
- Subcontractor Management: Ensure that all subcontractors are aware of and comply with the project's quality standards and requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent in federal contracting, with specific experience on USACE and VA projects.
- Must have working knowledge and certification in USACE EM-385-1.
- Demonstrated expertise in tenant improvements, showcasing successful project delivery in these areas.
- In-depth understanding of USACE processes, specifications, and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Procore and RMS, with the ability to effectively utilize these tools for project management and documentation.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven leadership abilities, inspiring and motivating the construction team to achieve project goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification or equivalent.
- EM-385-1 Certificate
- RMS

Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000 annually
