Job Title: Media Services Specialist
Support the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) by providing comprehensive media services, including photography, videography, and multimedia production.
Responsibilities:
- Capture still photos and videos during test execution in designated training areas.
- Inspect, test, clean, maintain, and repair recording equipment.
- Operate traditional and digital cameras with a variety of accessories.
- Assess test locations to identify filming and lighting requirements.
- Organize, parse, and edit raw footage into continuous videos.
- Trim, sequence, and assemble video segments into cohesive stories.
- Enhance video productions by incorporating music, dialogue, sound effects, and digital effects.
- Review and familiarize yourself with footage before final assembly.
- Compose and frame shots, applying technical aspects like lighting, lens settings, and filters.
- Archive and compress multimedia content, digitizing and storing it securely.
- Edit, manipulate, and enhance digital images and videos using specialized software.
- Create and revise professional materials such as PowerPoint presentations, brochures, and vignettes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to update MCTSSA's internal and external webpages.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Arts, Science, or a related field preferred.
- 0-5 years of experience in photography, videography, or a related field.
- Familiarity with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in multimedia production.
- Technical skills include proficiency in capturing high-quality still photos and videos, operating and maintaining traditional and digital cameras, and assessing filming locations.
- Proficient in video editing, image editing, and multimedia content archiving.
- Strong organizational skills to manage and maintain an inventory of audio-visual equipment.
- Ability to work under general supervision and contribute effectively in a team environment.
