What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Analyst position at FEECO International, Inc?
FEECO International, Inc. is currently seeking a motivated, innovative, and results-oriented individual to join our Systems Development department as a Business Analyst. The primary purpose of this position is to maintain and expand our custom equipment pricing and estimating system. The ideal Business Analyst will be able make creative use of historical data and perform the necessary research to derive improvements in a range of areas including costing models, system/process design, reporting, and documentation.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform analysis of job history and procedures to formulate more accurate and more predictive models of labor requirements and material usage.
- Work with Purchasing to build and maintain procedures and scheduling for updating purchased component costing estimates.
- Working with users to gather requirements on how to improve or develop new estimating programs, and also to work closely with developers to ensure programs/features are developed according to fill the users needs.
- Work directly with department representatives to define and discover unmet business needs and collaborate to find optimal solutions to business/estimating issues.
- Assist in managing and updating reporting/documentation relating to the sale/quotation of custom equipment.
- Other duties and analysis work as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Business Analyst degree or 2 years in a related business analyst/estimating type position
- Advanced proficiency w/ Microsoft Excel
- Good organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple various projects at once.
- Able to communicate effectively; excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic and an affinity for open ended/creative problem solving is crucial.
Preferred but not Required
- Knowledge/experience with any ‘Customer Relationship Management’, ‘Configure Price Quote’, or ‘Enterprise Resource Planning’ systems
- Familiarity w/ SQL or other database system and query based tools and practices
- General familiarity w/ manufacturing business practices and procedures
- Any amount of light programming familiarity would be helpful but is not required
