JOB PURPOSE:
Assist with shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate and timely fulfillment of online orders. Utilize database systems to track and manage inventory, maintaining up-to-date records. Maintain a clean and well-organized warehouse, ensuring all items are stored properly and workflows are efficient. This role requires a strong attention to detail and proficiency in database management to support seamless logistics and inventory control.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verifies incoming paperwork for accuracy and performs and documents quality inspections on all incoming product.
- Fulfill online orders accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with shipping and receiving by unloading trucks and checking in products.
- Weigh and count items for distribution to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Move materials and items to and from receiving or storage areas, ensuring proper placement and scanning accuracy.
- Identify and address issues with product quality and freshness, utilizing proper communication channels.
- Ensure all handled products are scanned and captured in the system according to the established scanning process.
- Properly label, scan, and accurately place products.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Mark products with identifying information using appropriate methods.
- Keep coolers and freezers safe, clean, and organized, ensuring accurate temperature readings.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Perform facilities maintenance duties as needed, such as sweeping, dusting, and mopping. Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse and work area.
- Observe and follow warehouse safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Commitment to understand and support FAEW’s mission, vision, and effective actions to end food insecurity and its causes
- Respect for the people FAEW serves
- High school diploma or equivalent related experience, preferred
- Six months warehouse/distribution experience preferred.
- Demonstrate the ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be open-minded of differing opinions and views.
- Previous forklift experience desired, must be able to be certified within two weeks of hire.
- Ability to consistently bend, twist, climb, reach above shoulders, kneel, squat, sit, stand and lift 75 pounds.
- Ability to work in a warehouse and cold environment (-10 to 10 degree).
- Ability to work at a fast pace with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, bend, twist, climb, reach above shoulders, kneel, squat, sit, stand, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to lift, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee must have the ability to work in a cold environment -10 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds while moving inventory. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
Protective Clothing Required: Close-toed shoes, Warm clothing when working in cold environment.
