SUMMARY
Our Director of People Development is an integral part of the FTB employee experience - responsible for creating pathways and opportunities for our team members to thrive while improving the productivity of our operations and mission to feed Tampa Bay. As the Director of People Development you will be responsible for designing and deploying development programs, tools, and processes that facilitate improved organizational performance This position assesses organization-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training and development solutions for employees and teams. This position actively searches for, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate, build people-focused solutions, dismantle barriers, enhance performance, and recognize performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shares alignment and actively upholds Feeding Tampa Bay's mission, vision, and values.
- Partners with Experience Leadership to create a learning culture through an annual strategic planning cycle.
- Provide internal coaching for leadership teams, supporting their growth and development.
- Partner with external coaching providers as needed to enhance internal leadership capabilities.
- Prepare leaders and team members to lead and manage change throughout the organization.
- Oversee and evolve the nomination-based leadership programs and develop and implement an elevated version of the process to prepare future leaders.
- Conducts annual training and development needs assessment.
- Designs and delivers comprehensive training programs to support the growth and effectiveness of the workforce.
- Develops training and development programs, including presentations, training guides, and other media.
- Works with employees, leaders, and managers to ensure the achievement of training objectives.
- Administers spending against the departmental budget.
- Plans, organizes, facilitates, and orders supplies for employee development and training events.
- Develops and maintains organizational communications such as digital signage and newsletters to ensure employees are aware of training and development events and resources.
- Accurately tracks and records completion of development in the LMS.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices to keep leadership programs innovative and effective.
- Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of Feeding Tampa Bay.
- Willing to actively participate in mission-driven programs, such as food distribution initiatives and disaster relief operations as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field; SHRM, ATD, or HRCI certification preferred.
- Three to five years of experience designing and implementing employee development programs.
- Ability to work collaboratively and influence senior leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, allocate and optimize resources, and manage timelines.
- Knowledge of adult learning theory.
- Proven skills in digital learning technology and facilitation.
- Ability to educate diverse audiences and work with all levels of staff.
- Strong experience with leadership selection and succession planning.
- Demonstrated success in designing and delivering leadership development programs.
- Demonstrated ability to honor confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Ability to work independently or on teams, manage projects, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
