TITLE: Teacher
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To create a flexible elementary and middle school grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation in accordance with each pupil’s ability; establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor Degree
- Arizona Elementary/Secondary Teacher certification
- Three (3) years of classroom teaching experience with at-risk students (preferred)
- Knowledge of instructional strategies for teaching at-risk students, study skills, behavior management, intervention strategies and accommodations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate teaching skills and knowledge in assigned academic area, utilizing course of study adopted by the Governing Board and other appropriate learning activities.
- Instruct pupils in subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
- Follow and implement instructional materials provided by teachers and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
- Keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
- Communicate with parents and classroom teachers/appropriate staff through conferences and other means to discuss pupil’s progress and interpret the school program.
- Create an effective environment that is highly structured for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards and interest centers.
- Maintain professional competence through in-service professional development activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
