What you’ll do
As a Mechanical Engineer, we promote a team environment, so you’ll collaborate with fellow engineers, environmental scientists and many others. You’ll also :
- Have mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC experience.
- Design and develop mechanical systems, components and products.
- Conduct research and analysis to determine the feasibility, performance and cost-effectiveness of mechanical designs.
- Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications using CAD software.
- Perform simulations and calculations to evaluate the structural integrity, thermal performance and mechanical behavior of designs.
- Select materials and components based on engineering requirements, cost considerations and manufacturing constraints.
- Prototype and test mechanical systems and prototypes to validate performance and functionality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and manufacturing engineers, to integrate mechanical systems into product development.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during product assembly, testing and deployment.
- Participate in design reviews, project meetings and client interactions to communicate progress, discuss challenges and propose solutions.
- Stay informed on the latest developments and trends in mechanical engineering technology.
What it takes
Ideally, you’ll have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. You should have three or more years of experience in mechanical engineering design and product development. Having your Professional Engineer licensing (PE) is a plus. Ideally, you’ll also :
