Position Title: Production Supervisor Location(s): Gadsden, AL

- SUMMARY:
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for shift employees on the production floor and complies with all safety, quality and housekeeping standards. Ensures shift meets inventory requirements and product is delivered in a timely manner. Manages and mentors employees in order to maintain motivation, teamwork and continuous improvement. Reports production related issues and repairs them in a timely manner and makes recommendations for corrective actions pertaining to production problems.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Additional duties as needed and assigned.
- Responsible for consistent and accurate shift to shift communication.
- Ensure production line start up/shut down is completed.
- Ensure employees are following standard operating procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment ensuring that all safety instructions are followed.
- Continuously monitor product quality.
- Inspect parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.
- Identify nonconforming material and properly dispose of the material.
- Prepare and conduct performance reviews.
- Ensure employees are trained to perform various job tasks.
- Reviewing and working with employees to set common goals and give them direction needed to help assist them in meeting their goals.
- Work with Tooling Department on tool changes and ensure changes are completed on schedule, on process, and safely
- Responsible for 5S audits based on current systems
- Maintenance of ADP system
- Responsible for update and equipment issues
- Responsible for scrap entry into myfsf or other ERP system
- Complete end of shift paperwork.
- Maintain and ensure shutdown procedures for all lines.
- SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct reports of Shift Foreman and Shift Leads.
- Indirect reports of All Shift Direct Labor Production Workers
- Indirect reports of All Indirect Labor Hourly Workers
- QUALIFICATIONS:

- Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems
- Understanding of Quality standards and health and safety regulations
- Experience in reporting on key production metrics
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Employee must have working knowledge of manufacturing environment. The individual will be responsible for leading production systems, overseeing the continuous improvement of the manufacturing process and executing long term strategic plans. Must be self-motivated and possess well developed leadership skills.
Minimum Requirement:
- Basic knowledge of word and excel, work with mathematical, data and the ability to apply principles of logic to duties and responsibilities
- Basic knowledge of statistics to perform studies and analyze data
- Prior Production Supervisory experience ( 5years)
Preferred:
- Leadership training, Problem Solving
- (5 – 10) years of progressive manufacturing experience and responsibilities
- Prior 5S and 6 Sigma Training / Experience
- Quality Tools (FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP etc.)
- LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets basic instructions and required documents. Has the ability to respond and communicate complicated instruction and basic directions.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic mathematics.
- REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
